Tragically, Hernan Manrique, who was renowned for his extraordinary coaching skills and commitment to developing new potential, has died. He made a big difference at Vélez’s lower levels by emphasizing the growth of young players. Manrique captained the Reserves squad this season alongside Marcelo Bravo, a former football player forced into an early retirement owing to heart problems.

The current Projection Tournament was struck with profound sorrow upon learning of Manrique’s untimely demise. Following Cacique Medina’s departure from Vélez’s first team in February of the previous year, Manrique and Bravo assumed responsibility. During their tenure, they achieved a rare victory for Fortn in the professional league when they faced Talleres de Córdoba.

Notably, Manrique gained recognition by joining the champion All Boys squad in 1993 at the age of 30.

Following his notable achievements, Manrique made the decision to play for New Chicago, a long-standing rival of Albo in football promotions, with whom he ascended to the First Division, further solidifying his reputation.
