Climber, 80, dies after falling from 3,000ft mountain within the Scottish Highlands

An 80-year-old climber has died after falling from a 3,064-foot mountain within the Scottish Highlands.
Police obtained a report of a person who had fallen at Coire a’ Bhasteir on the Isle of Skye at round 3.05pm on Wednesday, July 26.
This prompted an emergency response, together with 20 mountain rescue personnel and a helicopter.
Emergency providers attended, however the man – who was described as an ‘skilled’ hiker – was pronounced useless on the scene.
This follows the tragic loss of life of a father-of-one who died after loosing his footing while walking the Forcan Ridge.
