Authorities trying to find lacking F-35 aircraft after Marine pilot ejected throughout flight over Charleston

Marine Corps investigators have launched an inquiry after considered one of their pilots ejected from an F-35 fighter plane over South Carolina on Sunday afternoon.
A spokesman for Joint Base Charleston mentioned the pilot was in a Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort F-35 when the ‘mishap’ occurred.
He was discovered alive and brought to a close-by medical middle after parachuting into South Kenwood Drive just some hundred yards from the airbase in North Charleston.
His wingman, in an accompanying plane, safely landed at Joint Base Charleston.
Officers are working to find the F-35.

The 20,000 acre airbase is residence to the 628th Air Base Wing and shares runways with Charleston Worldwide Airport for industrial airways operations on the south facet of its airfield, and normal aviation plane operations on the east facet.
