Woolworths EFTPOS outage: Prospects instructed to pay money solely in shops throughout Australia

Woolworths shops throughout Australia have been hit by EFTPOS outages – with indicators put up requesting that clients pay money solely. 

Buyers on Friday reported that EFTPOS machines weren’t functioning on the grocery store’s Mawson, ACT; Pakenham Market, Victoria, Sunnybank Hills and Pittsworth, Queensland and several other shops throughout Sydney‘s south and west.

Seven Information reported that between 10 and 20 shops in a number of completely different states have been affected. 

It’s understood the outages have been attributable to web points, with a lot of the affected shops now again on-line. 

‘We would prefer to thank clients for his or her endurance with an IT outage affecting EFTPOS in a small variety of shops,’ a Woolworths spokesperson stated.

‘Shops remained open with money nonetheless with the ability to be used. The trigger has been recognized and EFTPOS is being restored.’

‘Once more we thank everybody for bearing with us this morning.’

One shopper took to X (previously Twitter) to share a photograph of a handwritten signal caught to a hand sanitizer cart close to the doorway to their native retailer, captioned ‘money solely on the native Woolies!’

‘We temporily (sic) don’t have any EFPOS (sic) as a consequence of no web,’ the signal learn.

‘Money solely. Sorry for any inconvenience.’
