Leah Williamson has been introduced along with her Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Prince William at Windsor Castle following England’s Euro 2022 last triumph.

The Lionesses captain was named within the King’s New Year’s Honours listing on the finish of 2022 alongside her fellow teammates Lucy Bronze, Beth Mead, and Ellen White. 

England beat Germany 2-1 within the last at Wembley, with Chloe Kelly‘s purpose in extra-time giving the nation their first main honour because the males’s facet received the 1966 World Cup.

Williamson, who has received six main trophies with Arsenal, was prevented from becoming a member of the Lionesses on their World Cup bid this summer time after suffering a ruptured ACL in April.

White is England‘s all-time main goalscorer, whereas Bronze and Mead have been England’s standout gamers over the past 12 months.

Mead was additionally awarded BBC Sports Personality of the Year, the primary feminine footballer to win the award. 

Dutch head coach Sarina Wiegman was made an honorary Commander of the British Empire (CBE) within the Overseas Workplace listing.
