  • Police briefly cordoned off the North Tower Memorial following the incident 

Police have launched a probe after an individual jumped into the 9/11 North Tower Memorial. 

The individual survived the leap, diving into the 18ft reflecting pool, which was briefly cordoned off, in line with the New York Times.

Officers say that the jumper was a relative of a 9/11 sufferer who was briefly granted entry to the restricted space on the plaza-level.

That they had been their cherished one’s identify on the memorial, with the world reopening a short while later. 

Safety officers stated that the relative survived the leap into the 18 inch deep water, and complained of again ache.
