Jordan’s king rejects any Israeli plan to occupy components of Gaza


AMMAN (Reuters) – Jordan’s King Abdullah rejected any plans by Israel to occupy components of Gaza or to create safety zones inside the enclave, saying the basis reason behind the disaster was Israel’s denial of Palestinians’ “official rights”, state media mentioned on Monday.

In feedback he made on the royal palace, the king was quoted as telling senior politicians that there might be “no navy or safety answer” to the battle between Israel and the Palestinians.

He mentioned the war-ravaged enclave of Gaza shouldn’t be severed by Israel from the opposite Palestinian Territories.

The monarch informed the politicians that the “root of the disaster was Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories and its denial of Palestinians official rights”.

“The answer begins from there and some other path is doomed to failure and extra of a cycle of violence and destruction,” he mentioned.

Abdullah mentioned he had lengthy warned about Israeli violations within the West Financial institution, with which Jordan shares a border, and Jewish settler assaults on Palestinian civilians may “increase the battle and push the area “to the abyss”.
