Military Suspends Ranger Coaching Battalion Commander as It Investigates Use of On-line Courting App
A Ranger Faculty commander was suspended in January amid an investigation into his conduct over on-line courting.
Lt. Col. Nathan E. Showman was suspended Jan. 26 from his place as commander of the fifth Ranger Coaching Battalion at Camp Merrill in Dahlonega, Georgia, based on a service spokesperson. The suspension was first reported by Army Times.
The investigation is said to Showman’s use of a courting profile and subsequent consensual relationships, based on his legal professional.

“This investigation by no means is accusing [Lt. Col.] Showman of sexual harassment or any equally associated allegation,” Robert Capovilla, with the Capovilla & Williams regulation agency, advised Army.com. “Relatively, it seems the Military is attacking a single, heterosexual man, and his need to have a courting profile and to have consensual courting relationships with different adults.”

Showman is a Cincinnati, Ohio, native and commissioned as an infantry officer out of Xavier College’s ROTC program in 2005, based on his official bio.
