John Travolta is a longtime resident of Jumbolair, the upscale residential growth north of Ocala that encompasses a runway large enough to accommodate Travolta’s jet.
Now the world-famous actor is lending his voice to those that oppose a proposed rezoning of the land round Jumbolair to permit for extra residential and business/industrial growth.
In response to the Horse Farms Forever advocacy group, an lawyer representing Travolta has filed a letter with county authorities spelling out the actor’s objections to Jumbolair owner Robert Bull’s proposed modifications.
“In comparison with the prevailing low-density neighborhoods surrounding the world, Bull’s proposals would irrevocably alter the complexion of north central Marion County from a quiet, rural farmland group to a bustling airfield surrounded by dense residential growth and business growth,” says the letter, a replica of which is linked on the Horse Farms Perpetually web site.
The letter says Bull’s plan will result in issues of safety, air and noise air pollution, decreased property values and actually have a unfavorable influence on horses which might be stored within the space.
The Marion County Fee is scheduled to debate the plan at its Feb. 20 assembly. The agenda for that assembly has not but been printed, however these issues sometimes are on a portion of the agenda that begins at 2 p.m. The conferences are held in fee chambers on the McPherson Governmental Advanced, 601 SE twenty fifth Ave., Ocala.
