Lady arrested after spending night time in Walgreens, leaving with stolen items


TEXARKANA, Texas (KETK) – A girl arrested in East Texas on Tuesday is being accused of staying in a single day in a Walgreens, vandalizing the loos and leaving with a backpack stuffed with stolen merchandise the following morning.

Workers at Walgreens Pharmacy had been about to unlock the entrance door Tuesday once they seen “a girl in a gown strolling round inside the shop” and referred to as the police.

When Texarkana Police Division officer Jonathan Value arrived, the girl reportedly walked out the entrance door and began down the sidewalk whereas wrapped in a blanket and carrying a backpack.

Police stated when Value requested the girl her identify, she initially informed him it was “$” and tried to stroll away twice earlier than being arrested. She was recognized as 32-year-old Brooke Shimanek.

Value reportedly discovered wine, cigarettes, markers, notebooks and chocolate from Walgreens in her backpack. Retailer workers reported that she used a Sharpie to write down everywhere in the toilet stalls.

“From what we are able to inform, she in some way managed to cover out within the retailer final night time once they closed after which spent the night time engaged on her artwork venture within the restrooms – and consuming and ingesting,” police stated.

Shimanek was charged with housebreaking of a constructing and booked into the bi-state jail.
