Steve Wright was found dead after paramedics have been known as to an “incident” at his central London flat.
Emergency providers rushed to the house of the radio presenter in Marylebone, near the BBC’s headquarters, on Monday morning.
Police have mentioned the “sudden” dying is just not being handled as suspicious.
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service mentioned: “We have been known as at 10.07am on Monday, February 12, to studies of an incident.
“We despatched numerous sources to the scene. Very sadly, an individual was pronounced lifeless on the scene.”
Particulars emerged after Wright’s family announced his death on Tuesday, delivering the dangerous information to “the hundreds of thousands of devoted radio listeners who had the nice fortune and nice pleasure of permitting Steve into their every day lives as one of many UK’s most enduring and fashionable radio personalities”.
BBC director-general Tim Davie led tributes to the DJ following the information, saying that Wright was “a very great broadcaster who has been an enormous a part of so a lot of our lives over many a long time”.
