U.S. lawmakers are expected to vote Wednesday on a bill that would finally result in the compelled sale or ban of video-sharing app TikTok in the US, amid issues that the Chinese language-owned platform may very well be used to watch and manipulate People.
The struggle over TikTok, which says it has 170 million U.S. customers, represents rising fears over China’s affect in the US, particularly in an election 12 months. A nationwide ban, if it goes into impact, may pose an existential risk to one in all China’s most profitable web firms.
