Guatemalan president fires minister over daughter’s use of public funds

GUATEMALA CITY (Reuters) – Guatemalan President Bernardo Arevalo on Sunday dismissed his minister of atmosphere and pure sources, fewer than 100 days into his time period, to “keep away from any doubt” over the integrity of his authorities, a press release stated.

Arevalo received the presidential elections in August by a landslide after a marketing campaign that centered closely on growing transparency and preventing rampant corruption in Central America’s most populous nation.
