PALM BEACH GARDENS — A brush fireplace Monday made heavy smoke visible close to Interstate 95 alongside Donald Ross Highway in Palm Seashore Gardens, officers mentioned.

As of 6 p.m., crews from Palm Seashore County Hearth Rescue and Palm Seashore Gardens Hearth Rescue had been working to extinguish the flames, Palm Seashore County Hearth Rescue mentioned.

A 911 caller alerted the businesses to the fireplace at about 4:40 p.m., reporting heavy smoke within the space close to the Alton neighborhood close to the interstate.

First arriving crews reported the fireplace was about 2 acres in dimension.
