BRAMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — An audit performed by the Oklahoma State Auditor Cindy Byrd uncovered suspected embezzlement by a city clerk in Kay County, who allegedly misappropriated simply over $60K on the town funds.

The State Auditor’s workplace launched an investigation into Sandra Barrows, City Clerk for the City of Braman, on the request of District Lawyer Brian Hermanson.

Barrows oversaw day-to-day operations for the City of Braman from November 2016 till her resignation in April 2019. Based on the audit, Barrows improperly issued funds to herself with out board approval and misappropriated utility money collections, totaling $60,289 on the town funds.
