(Reuters) – President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated his legitimacy is recognised and decided by the Ukrainian individuals, whereas criticizing that of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“President Zelenskiy’s legitimacy is recognised by the individuals of Ukraine… Our individuals are free. Putin’s legitimacy is recognised solely by comrade Putin,” he informed a press convention in Paris.
Presidential elections in Ukraine had been purported to happen this spring, following Zelenskiy’s five-year time period of workplace.
Nonetheless, martial regulation launched following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 bans any wartime election. The structure says the president serves till a newly elected one takes workplace.
Putin claimed a number of instances that Zelenskiy is illegitimate after his five-year time period ended this Could.
