Deputies apprehend man accused of violent assault on girl leaving Publix lot in Stuart

HOBE SOUND — A person accused Thursday of a “violent theft and automobile theft” involving a lady leaving a Publix on Cove Highway was apprehended close to Bridge Highway simply west of U.S. 1, based on Martin County sheriff’s officers.

The person, who was not recognized by title or age, is accused of attacking a lady as she left the Publix within the Cove Procuring Heart, on Southeast Federal Freeway, in Stuart.

A man accused of a “violent robbery and car theft” involving a woman leaving a Publix on Cove Road was apprehended near Bridge Road just west of U.S. 1, in Stuart, on Thursday June 13, 2024, according to Martin County Sheriff’s Officials.

Sheriff’s officers reported the person confronted the lady, grabbed her belongings and fled in her car, based on the company’s Fb web page.

Deputies situated the car on Bridge Highway and carried out a “car intervention approach,” which disabled the automobile.

The person, who will not be from Martin County, sheriff’s officers mentioned, stays in custody.
