Venezuela opposition experiences arbitrary detentions forward of election

A Venezuelan presidential candidate stated  Saturday that three opposition activists had been detained arbitrarily forward of July elections in a marketing campaign marred by allegations of political persecution.

“They’ve been lacking since yesterday… It’s an unjust and arbitrary detention,” stated Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), the biggest opposition coalition in Venezuela.
