Man dies in hospital after Downtown Portland assault


PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A person who was assaulted in Downtown Portland final week has died from his accidents, Portland police introduced Friday.

The unique incident occurred June 12, when officers responded to experiences of an assault within the 1900 block of Northwest Everett Avenue.

Suspect indicted in 2023 triple murder, Portland police seek more suspects

On arrival, they discovered a person — later recognized as 51-year-old O’Marr Burnett — badly injured.

Though he was taken to a hospital, Burnett died two days later.

The Medical Examiner discovered Burnett died of “homicidal violence,” in keeping with PPB.

Police say no arrests have been made and the incident is underneath investigation.
