Fireplace crews spring into motion after airplane catches fireplace at Lebanon County airport


LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Volunteer fireplace crews have been dispatched to Deck Airport in Lebanon early this morning after a small plane caught fireplace on the runway.

Chief 31 of Keystone Hook & Ladder Firm and their crew (E31) arrived on the scene shortly after 4 a.m. to seek out the entrance of a small plane ignited in flames on the tip of the runway.

In accordance with Keystone Hook and Ladder, the plane had bother departing earlier than a working engine compartment fireplace engulfed its nostril. The passengers rapidly exited the airplane, avoiding accidents.

E31 positioned the hearth below management shortly after arriving on the scene. Hook and Ladder Crew’s R31 and W31 assisted with the engine and lighting.
