Man allegedly caught with a stolen gun on Beale Road


MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A person was arrested after police say he was caught on Beale Road with a stolen AR-15 early Saturday morning.

Officers with the Leisure District Unit Compliance Crew have been flagged down whereas on routine patrol at roughly 1:27 a.m.

Beale Road safety stated {that a} man was armed on the checkpoint entrance of Rufus Thomas for Beale Road.

Officers approached the defendant Demarcus Clemons, who had a gun protruding of his left waistband and his arms inside his pocket.

Because the officer tried to take away the gun from Clemons’ pants, he allegedly pushed an officer to the bottom and commenced to flee.

Through the pursuit, Clemons threw a black Delton AR-15 to the bottom at BB King and Gayoso Ave earlier than being taken into custody.

Officers recovered the gun and checked it by way of NCIC. The gun got here again stolen out of Ridgeway Station on January 23.
