Carthage man attracts jail time period for capturing incident
Aug. 22—A Jasper County decide sentenced a Carthage man to a few years in jail this week on a conviction for illegal use of a weapon.
Luis D. Chanas-Gomez, 24, pleaded responsible to the cost Monday in Jasper County Circuit Court docket in a plea deal calling for a three-year time period, and Choose Gayle Crane went together with the plea association.
Chanas-Gomez was arrested Oct. 24 following a report of a number of gunshots heard within the 100 block of East Central Avenue in Carthage. Police discovered a number of spent shell casings on the entrance door and a witness informed them Chanas-Gomez was drunk and began capturing a gun.
Police discovered the gun in a laundry basket the place a witness had positioned it after taking it away from the defendant, based on the affidavit.
A probable-cause affidavit states that the defendant has a number of prior arrests in California, Colorado and Carthage involving driving whereas intoxicated and each obstructing and assaulting law enforcement officials.
