Russia assaults Ukraine with missiles, drones, Ukraine army says

(Reuters) – Russia launched a number of missiles and drones in a single day concentrating on northern and japanese Ukraine, Kyiv’s army mentioned on Sunday, with air defence programs destroying many of the weapons earlier than they reached their targets.

The assault focused Ukraine’s frontline areas of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Donetsk, Ukraine’s air power mentioned on the Telegram messaging app.

“A lot of the missiles didn’t attain their targets,” the air power mentioned, including that Russia launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile, an Iskander-Ok cruise missile and 6 guided air missiles. It didn’t specify what number of missiles have been destroyed.

The air power mentioned Russia launched 9 assault drones, with Ukraine’s air defence programs destroying eight of them over the Ukraine’s Mykolaiv area.

Oleh Sinehubov, governor of the Kharkiv area within the east, posted on Telegram that seven folks have been injured within the Russian assaults, together with a 4-year-old youngster.

Ihor Terekhov, mayor of Kharkiv metropolis, mentioned a gasoline pipeline was broken within the metropolis and a minimum of two homes have been destroyed and 10 broken.

Reuters couldn’t independently confirm the reviews. There was no speedy remark from Russia.

Either side deny concentrating on civilians within the conflict that Russia launched with a full-scale invasion on Ukraine in February 2022.
