Aug. 31 (UPI) — A helicopter with 22 folks aboard went lacking Saturday in Russia’s far east area of Kamchatka.
The Mi-8 helicopter had simply taken off close to the Vachkazhets historic volcano within the Kamchatka peninsula and was touring to the village of Nikolayevka eastward about 16 miles away, TASS reported.
Contact was misplaced with the helicopter at 4:15 p.m. native time Saturday, Kamchatka Gov. Vladimir Solodov stated in a video posted on Telegram.
He stated the helicopter had 19 passengers — most of them tourists– and three crew.
