Lafourche Parish officers challenge obligatory evacuation order forward of Tropical Storm Francine

LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Lafourche Parish officers announce obligatory evacuations have begun for residents in low-lying areas all through the parish.

Evacuations will start at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10 for residents dwelling in FEMA or state housing items and south of the Leon Theriot Locks.

Francine forecast to make landfall in Louisiana as a Category 2 hurricane Wednesday

A voluntary order has been issued for the Decrease Bayou Blue Neighborhood, Eagle Island Street, anybody in a cellular dwelling and anybody who “feels weak.”

The parish can also be providing shelter on the Lockport Neighborhood Heart at 5610 Louisiana Freeway 1 in Lockport.

Officers advise these needing shelter to deliver two days price of meals, water, drugs and bedding together with moveable charging cables for digital units.
