White Home condemns ‘irresponsible’ Elon Musk publish on assassination try


The White Home on Monday decried a now-deleted publish by Elon Musk on X as “irresponsible.”

Within the Sunday night time publish — which he made after the second apparent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump — Musk, who owns the platform, responded to a person who requested, “Why they wish to kill Donald Trump?”

In his publish, Musk wrote, “And nobody is even making an attempt to assassinate Biden/Kamala.”

Following intense backlash, Musk deleted the publish and walked it back as a joke early Monday. The publish obtained almost 40 million impressions earlier than being deleted.

Responding to the publish on Monday, the White Home condemned Musk for having “joked about” and even “inspired” violence.

“As President Biden and Vice President Harris mentioned after yesterday’s disturbing information, ‘there isn’t a place for political violence or for any violence ever in our nation,’ and ‘all of us should do our half to make sure that this incident doesn’t result in extra violence,’ the assertion learn.

“Violence ought to solely be condemned, by no means inspired or joked about. This rhetoric is irresponsible,” the White Home added.

Musk has endorsed Trump, and Trump has mentioned he would faucet Musk to steer a government efficiency commission if elected.
