Blue Ridge Parkway devastation in North Carolina captured by drone footage
The Blue Ridge Parkway, sometimes an ideal, picturesque mountain panorama, is now one more instance of Tropical Storm Helene’s tragic mark on Western North Carolina.

The parkway is closed from Sunbelt/Autumnview Street in Virginia (mile marker 200.1) via the Nice Smoky Mountains Nationwide Park (mile marker 469).
The road is closed to all motor automobiles, bicycles and pedestrians.
There is no such thing as a timeline from the Parks Service on how quickly this section of America’s favourite drive may reopen.
